Goodenough Gismo

  • Gismo39
This is the classic children's book, Goodenough Gismo, by Richmond I. Kelsey, published in 1948. Nearly unavailable in libraries and the collector's market, it is posted here with love as an "orphan work" so that it may be seen and appreciated -- and perhaps even republished, as it deserves to be. After you read this book, it won't surprise you to learn that Richmond Irwin Kelsey (1905-1987) was an accomplished artist, or that as Dick Kelsey, he was one of the great Disney art directors, breaking your heart with "Pinocchio," "Dumbo," and "Bambi."

Wow, amba. You work fast!!!

2 kewl, eh? And here I was, on the fence about offensive behaviour :0).

Oh, my! You've really gone and done it now! Run for the cave...

Well, I hope you're not risking your life, and admire the gesture for the free-speech home team. But I'm mostly quite grateful to you for having started out my Saturday with a big laugh--quite necessary when yet another overly large, overly noisy children's birthday party is on deck. (At least I'm not hosting.)

What a hoot!

P.S. The "well" with which I started the first sentence should not be taken as indicative of any falsity in what follows.

; )

No danger for you on this one ... however, you have jeopardized a sgnificant number of Nigerians.

Duh . . . gotta look at that one for a while . . .

Just trying to prove that I am no more an artist with symbols than with a brush .... but it started as a long, tall Muslim ... Ah, Picasso would have gotten it. ;>)
