Goodenough Gismo

  • Gismo39
This is the classic children's book, Goodenough Gismo, by Richmond I. Kelsey, published in 1948. Nearly unavailable in libraries and the collector's market, it is posted here with love as an "orphan work" so that it may be seen and appreciated -- and perhaps even republished, as it deserves to be. After you read this book, it won't surprise you to learn that Richmond Irwin Kelsey (1905-1987) was an accomplished artist, or that as Dick Kelsey, he was one of the great Disney art directors, breaking your heart with "Pinocchio," "Dumbo," and "Bambi."

Congratulations! We'll try to do a good job of sending you one toward 200,000.

The Pope Catholic Masturbation piece was dated before I found you, before I even started writing online myself. Going back to read it now, the most aspect is the view taken by a couple of the commenters - just pray and read the bible and you will forget about having fun/feeling good. Gimme a break!

Congratulations! Every one of those 100,000 visits resulted in someone being informed, amused, or stirred to thought.

None of us can wave a wand and create a forest, but we can optimistically and faithfully plant seeds every day and then nurture those that sprout and start to grow. And hope that they in turn will cast their own seeds!

Thanks for tending your garden so well, Amba, and I hope you'll keep planting for a long, long time.
