Goodenough Gismo

  • Gismo39
This is the classic children's book, Goodenough Gismo, by Richmond I. Kelsey, published in 1948. Nearly unavailable in libraries and the collector's market, it is posted here with love as an "orphan work" so that it may be seen and appreciated -- and perhaps even republished, as it deserves to be. After you read this book, it won't surprise you to learn that Richmond Irwin Kelsey (1905-1987) was an accomplished artist, or that as Dick Kelsey, he was one of the great Disney art directors, breaking your heart with "Pinocchio," "Dumbo," and "Bambi."

I left Typepad some time ago, but at that time wasn't required to be a 'pro' subscriber to have ads in the sidebar.

It wasn't that difficult to do either, just required reading the instructions... something I usually only do after I mess something up :-)

I moved to PowerBlogs because it was so much cheaper and (to me) easier to use. It has its quirks, they are just different than Typepad's.

Do it! Fer cryin' out loud, you deserve to get paid for this thing.

TypePad claims to make it simple in their latest upgrade with a little account that tallies everything for you - but I think they also take your monthly payments right out of your earnings (before the pizza!).

I love the analogy about your blog earning its keep. It's definitely grown up enough not to be a freeloader. And I agree that you -and your blog - deserve it.

Thank you, friends and family, for the encouragement! You are dear.

Now I've just got to find someone to "invite" or "sponsor" me or however that works . . . there's a place on BlogAds where you can sign up, I don't know if it's for a waiting list or what . . .

Amba,

Lance Mannion just added bolgads recently for many of the same reasons. You may want to reach out to him for advice. His experience may be recent enough to be of help.

Good luck!
