Goodenough Gismo

  • Gismo39
This is the classic children's book, Goodenough Gismo, by Richmond I. Kelsey, published in 1948. Nearly unavailable in libraries and the collector's market, it is posted here with love as an "orphan work" so that it may be seen and appreciated -- and perhaps even republished, as it deserves to be. After you read this book, it won't surprise you to learn that Richmond Irwin Kelsey (1905-1987) was an accomplished artist, or that as Dick Kelsey, he was one of the great Disney art directors, breaking your heart with "Pinocchio," "Dumbo," and "Bambi."

That's just as good as Michael over at The Might Middle with his "GOP = God's Own Party = Hezbollah" analogy.

Thanks for pointing this out, Amba. I've been writing a lot lately about "the base". I'd forgotten how that might be translated in a different language! Scary, in a way, although the Dems, too, have their "base". All of which reminds me why I'm happiest in the "un-base" of the middle.

You guys are the best. Just returned from a trip, relaxing and catching up and you all come up with this stuff to make me crazy.

Come on over and we'll tickle you too!

I'm suprised that the MSM hasn't ran wild with this yet.

Apparently it has not occurred to anyone!!!

And by the way, I didn't particularly have one party or the other in mind. It's both -- it's this whole new strategy of appealing to "the base" and let the center fall where it may.
