Goodenough Gismo

This is the classic children's book, Goodenough Gismo, by Richmond I. Kelsey, published in 1948. Nearly unavailable in libraries and the collector's market, it is posted here with love as an "orphan work" so that it may be seen and appreciated -- and perhaps even republished, as it deserves to be. After you read this book, it won't surprise you to learn that Richmond Irwin Kelsey (1905-1987) was an accomplished artist, or that as Dick Kelsey, he was one of the great Disney art directors, breaking your heart with "Pinocchio," "Dumbo," and "Bambi."

Even when you're not carefree, you're still fully **here.** Or **there.** I've always admired that about you. I mean, even when you're not fully present, you're more present than I'll ever be. At least, it's always seemed that way.

That may just be another way of describing the 40 or so IQ points you've got on me.

"All those who care about protecting balance in government are sitting here tied to the tracks, facing an onrushing constitutional crisis." Amba, I am worried and so sad about this - too.

I am holding you in my thoughts even as you are enveloped in "sad wrap."

The negative energy of Washington will take on itself, and be resolved as it has been in other instances just as (seemingly) dire -- For your own tribulations, whatever support you can get from this "4th Bacon Factor" you may freely take.

Thank you, kind friends.

P.S. What is a 4th Bacon Factor?? Asking seems like looking a gift horse in the mouth, but I can't help myself - my curiosity . . .

Er...sorry. The "Bacon Factor" is a term used in da movie biz to describe the directness of one's connections. The term was originally used to count the number of contacts one is removed from Kevin Bacon. If you know him, your Bacon Factor is one. Friend of a friend, BF is 2, and so forth. It is used liberally here to calculate the number of steps between Amba and Wavemaker, through your co-author and his current documentary it the Amba Factor (and er.... it would be three, actually). It was used here, very cleverly, to divert your attention from weightier matters.
