Goodenough Gismo

  • Gismo39
This is the classic children's book, Goodenough Gismo, by Richmond I. Kelsey, published in 1948. Nearly unavailable in libraries and the collector's market, it is posted here with love as an "orphan work" so that it may be seen and appreciated -- and perhaps even republished, as it deserves to be. After you read this book, it won't surprise you to learn that Richmond Irwin Kelsey (1905-1987) was an accomplished artist, or that as Dick Kelsey, he was one of the great Disney art directors, breaking your heart with "Pinocchio," "Dumbo," and "Bambi."

Amba, I only catch the flu when I want it - so "flu-blogging" is fine with me.

You will be missed and I am wishing you and yours well, well, well.

Best get-well wishes to J.

Simul-blogging the flu --- a neat idea! The ultimate of course would be simulblogging one's own death. I may post a parody of that someday if I'm feeling creepily comical enough. (Actually it's all there already just in stating the idea. You can imagine the rest.)

My favorite last words are the boxer Max Baer's:

Blog-shmog, speedy recovery to the big guy and no flu for you, that's our wish.

The trouble with simulblogging the flu: it's DISGUSTING. Never mind.

Like, "Ooh, some green stuff came out of his nose!" And so on.
