It's certainly a funny and over-the-top scare piece, Amba, but this is, in general, one of the areas where conservative ol' me sides with the ACLU, as I discuss here.

I would only be concerned if I was in NYC and they didn't quantify the Trans-fat. Pass the pepperoni, please

I don't disagree with you, Pat, it was just the over-the-topness I was characterizing as "paranoid." I'm probably not vigilant enough in the defense of my liberty.

How's that go again -- just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean there isn't a conspiracy to overcharge me for food I don't want?

I for one am glad to know that there are some things that we all have in common.
Black, white, rich, poor, wingnut or moonbat -- we can all appreciate paranoid conspiracy theories and "culture war" scare tactics.
(Disclaimer: The views expressed are not necessarily those of PJ and are not meant to discount legitimate concerns about privacy and liberty. Does this go on my permanant record?)

"Comas for Capitals"
I was worried that my email was not going out to you, but then I tend to be concerned to worried about most things, so I just don't think about most of them, especially were we're headed.
Hi and love - Rick

Oh, they're coming for you now, Pastor Jeff... the privacy advocates will now put your name on their master list of those who harbor undesirable thoughts because they are inadequately opposed to thought control and government databases. You'll never work for a pro-privacy firm again...

ummmm- excuse my ignorance(yeah, please?)...
i don't get it. Isn't the ACLU all ABOUT privacy? I think?
Posted by: karen | January 31, 2007 at 10:17 PM
Yeah, that's the point -- they're trying with humorous exaggeration to warn you what's coming if you let the gov have access to all your private data.
Posted by: amba | January 31, 2007 at 10:34 PM
A tad too extreme- even for the ACLU.
Ah, scratch that.
Posted by: karen | January 31, 2007 at 10:43 PM
That didn't sound right, but... you know what i mean.
Here they are taking away rights left and right- and they can think up something so off-the-wall? Whatever.

This is all really an elaborate and sly advertisement for home-made pizza.
We love make-your-own-pizza night at our house.
